How to read a Sage ordering code

The anatomy of a Sage SKU — every character has a meaning.

Sage ordering codes follow a consistent grammar: product code + variant + options. Once you know the grammar, you can read (or build) any Sage SKU in seconds.

The grammar

Sage codes follow the structure: PRODUCT-VARIANT-VOLTAGE-OPTIONS

  • PRODUCT — 3-letter product code (e.g., PHO = Phoenix, KEY = Keystone, JAS = Jasper)
  • VARIANT — battery architecture (BB = integral battery backup, RE = remote off central battery, AC = AC-only, no emergency)
  • VOLTAGE — input voltage (120, 277, 347, 480, or 24 for DC)
  • OPTIONS — suffixes for auxiliary features (WIFI = cloud-monitored, WP = weather-rated, SM = surface mount, etc.)

Worked examples

  • PHO-RE-24 — Phoenix recessed downlight, Remote variant, 24V DC input (runs off central battery)
  • ASP-BB-120 — Aspen architectural exterior, Battery Backup (unit equipment), 120V
  • KEY-1000-120-WIFI — Keystone central battery, 1000W capacity, 120V AC input, Sage Live™ network adaptor installed
  • MLW-AC-277-WP — Onyx interior wall pack, AC variant (no emergency), 277V, weather-pack rated
  • JAS-RE-24 — Jasper premium recessed exit sign, Remote variant, 24V DC input

The Ordering Code Builder

Every Sage product page has an interactive Ordering Code Builder that lets you click through each choice and see the final SKU. Great for over-the-phone quoting: read the options to the customer, confirm, and lock the SKU for the submittal.
