Sage Live™: what cloud monitoring actually does

Remote diagnostics for the central battery system.

Sage Live™ is the cloud-based remote diagnostics system that comes with the Sage central battery line. Here's what it monitors, what it alerts on, and why specifiers ask for it.

What gets monitored

When a Sage Keystone or Volta central battery is configured for Sage Live™, it continuously reports system health to a cloud dashboard:

  • Battery voltage and charge state
  • Battery temperature
  • Charger output and fault status
  • Transfer switch operation
  • Per-circuit emergency fixture load (when addressable fixtures are used)
  • Self-test results: monthly functional test + annual 90-min discharge test

Alerts

Sage Live™ can email designated facility staff when any monitored value drifts out of spec — a battery cell weakens, a fixture fails its self-test, the transfer switch records an unexpected event. No more discovering battery problems after a real outage.

Why specifiers ask for it

  • NFPA 101 requires monthly + annual emergency lighting tests — Sage Live™ generates the documentation automatically
  • Building owners avoid late-night failure-mode discoveries that prompt code-violation citations
  • Insurance carriers increasingly favor monitored emergency systems
  • Maintenance budgets get spent on actual problems, not preventive cycle replacements

How to spec it

Sage Live™ is enabled by default on Keystone and Volta central battery systems. The 'WIFI' ordering option (e.g., KEY-1000-120-WIFI) provides the network adaptor. Cloud monitoring requires an internet-connected facility.
